Last week, we announced our first set of speakers for Byteconf Flutter, our free remote Flutter conference taking place on August 14th, 2020.

Today, we have a few announcements for updates and changes to the conference next week that we're super excited about. Let's dive into them:

Workshops

We're thrilled to announce three (!) live Flutter workshops taking place on Thursday, August 13th, the day before the conference airs.

These workshops will feature some amazing Flutter teachers and instructors, and be available to watch, for free, right on our YouTube channel. If you aren't able to make it to the workshops, we'll make them available for rewatching after they air!

Here's a glimpse at what we have planned:

  • Bloc πŸ’™ Cubit, presented by Felix Angelov (@felangelov)
  • Learn to soar with Flutter, presented by Andrea Bizzotto (@biz84)
  • Crossplatform Β² β€” let's make Flutter and Kotlin Multiplatform friends, presented by Eugene Saturov (@saturovv)

Make sure to RSVP for the conference (see below) to get details on the workshops β€” when they start, how to tune in, and what to check out after the workshops end!

New speakers and v1 of the conference schedule

We're so excited to finally be able to announce our keynote speaker for the conference! Ken VanDine (@kenvandine), engineering manager on Ubuntu Desktop, will be covering the recent work to bring Flutter support to Linux, which was released as an alpha last month.

We also are excited to have a Flutter core team member joining the lineup: Justin McCandless (@justinjmcc) will be talking about Flutter Interactive Viewer, a project he recently released!

We couldn't be more excited to add two more awesome speakers who have been working on pushing the boundaries of Flutter and growing the Flutter community β€” make sure to check out their talks at the conference!

We're also announcing the schedule for Byteconf Flutter. The conference will start at 11am CST (4pm GMT) and end at 5pm CST (10pm GMT). Check out the conference page for the full schedule with times, talk descriptions, and more!

Note that the order of the talks may be subject to change up until August 12th: we're working with our speakers to ensure that as many of them as possible can attend the conference, and be in the live chat while their talk airs!

Q&A Panel

We'll also be hosting a question-and-answer panel before the conference talks go live! Join us for a live Q&A with Chris Sells (@csells), Product Manager on the Flutter team, the conference starts on August 14th. We're stoked to get a chance to chat with Chris, and we'll be gathering your questions starting at the beginning of next week for the Q&A session. Make sure to RSVP below so you don't miss the link to join the panel!
